Taylor has terminal cancer and has been given months to live, so his friends started a social media campaign to get Nintendo’s attention.
Hacker KapuccinoHeck has shared some findings about the new NES emulator that is part of Nintendo’s new “Switch online” offering. Apparently, it’s fairly easy to load your own Roms (on a hacked Switch) and play them directly, which the hacker demonstrated by loading Kirby’s Adventure (video below).

Breath of the Wild was made for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U by Nintendo. The game's open world was inspired by the failures of Skyward Sword, and BotW development also led to the production of The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD. The game follows Link, who along with Zelda tries to combat the evil Calamity Ganon.
Scene hacker Hexkyz reports that Team Xecuter’s recently released Custom Firmware for the Nintendo Switch embeds some code designed to intentionally brick a console, if it detects the user is trying to bypass the license restrictions. (For example by trying to run the CFW on a different console than the license allows).
The Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft is getting a big update today, bringing the Bedrock Engine to Nintendo’s portable console. The update enables cross-play with PC, Xbox One, and smartphones — but notably not the PlayStation 4. Sony is blocking cross-play for Fortnite, Rocket League, and Minecraft so PS4 players can’t play against Xbox One or Nintendo Switch owners. Meanwhile, Nintendo and Microsoft are partnering to utilize cross-play as a marketing weapon today.

In an entirely expected turn of events, Ariana Grande showed up on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform her new single “No Tears Left to Cry” this evening. What you might not have seen coming was her choice of instruments: Grande teamed up with Fallon and The Roots to play the song entirely using Nintendo’s Labo line of cardboard Switch accessories. It’s an impressive feat, and we should know, as attempting to program a song and build instruments using Labo proved to be a huge challenge during our testing. We’re not quite sure who handled the programming for tonight’s performance, though.
Nintendo’s PR has released this week’s list of eShop downloads, and unceremoniously nestled in with all of the indie downloads is Hulu. If the app does indeed launch later today, that’ll make it the first major video streaming service to hit the system in North America.
The Nintendo Switch is probably the best mobile gaming console ever created, but it’s still not great at going from playing on the go to big screen console experience when you’re not at home. A new dock accessory created by a company called YesOJO aims to change that, giving Switch the ability to project a screen of up to 150″ wherever you want to play.
